Who is she?

She is me, I'm Jodie an Isle of Wight based photographer. Ironically I hate my picture taken, which always makes me laugh. I take photos of people for a living but hate my own taken. This actually works in my favour though as I know what it's like for a lot of people. Part of my job is to make you feel at ease and comfortable which allows me to capture the most natural photos.

Where it all began

I've always been a creative person growing up. I spent my spare time painting, drawing, making youtube videos (it was a phase, thankfully) and photographing nature which has led me to where I am today. I got my first camera when I was around 15 which I purchased myself after saving up. I have always had a job from a young age, my mum always taught me if you want something you have to work for it. So I did.

I'd photograph all of our family trips away, my favourite being Switzerland, to visit a family member. I just kept practising with photography throughout the years. For a while I did product photography which I enjoyed but it was too polished and staged for me. I wanted to photograph people and in particular weddings. I took the plunge in 2021 after lockdown to build my own business. Over the years it's developed into what it is today. I'm so grateful that I get to do what I love for a living.
Facts about me

I love dogs, an unhealthy amount. Especially my mum's dog Millie who sadly passed in 2024.

I collect Starbucks 'you are here' mugs, this is an ongoing collection as I want to get one from each place I travel to. I love travelling. So much so I'm going off at the end of 2025 to travel Europe.

My favourite music genre is rock or musicals.

I love watching crime series

I can sew pretty well, I took fashion as an A level and loved designing and creating new garments. I used this skill through lockdown making scrubs and masks for nurses.

I have photographed over 45 weddings till now. I adore photographing weddings because they're all so different.
